Game Shows Game Design Fastest Finger

Carl Blundell

In the role of Managing Director, Carl is the chief architect of Cat and Mouse's proprietary hardware and software systems. Carl pioneered the use of computers in television in 1984 and has been developing the core philosophies and technical systems for TV show control ever since.

He has recently designed completely new systems for TV game shows including 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', 'Britain's Brainiest Kid' and 'National Lottery Winning Lines' that have been used around the world. Earlier projects have included over 30 complete game-shows or pilots, many live phone-in games for Children's TV and non-broadcast solutions including major theme-park installations.

Managing Director

The same experience has also been used extensively in solutions for news and current affairs. For many years, Carl was the UK's only independent provider of multilingual election results and graphics systems to BBC Wales for General Elections in 1987,1992,1997 and 2001 as well as the first Welsh Assembly elections in 1999. He also supplied full election solutions to BBC Northern Ireland covering all elections between 1989 and 2001, Election and Budget speech coverage for BBC Westminster including the General Election of 2001, and a live Budget coverage system for RTE in Dublin. Services have included real-time graphics, news information feeds, support web-sites, presenter information and interaction and even prediction systems.

He has also provided real-time sports graphics and data systems for horse racing, snooker, squash and rugby with his own OB vehicle.
