Poker Project Manager
Nick joined Cat and Mouse in early 2010, coming from the education sector where he was a primary school IT manager. In addition to his ‘hands-on’ teaching work, he created several CD-ROM titles for the TIMES Education range including Welcome To Numberton and Welcome To Letterby, two immersive collections of game-based activities designed to develop young children’s numeracy and literacy.
He is based at Cat and Mouse’s Cardiff offices, but spends much of his time jetting off to exotic and glamorous locations like South America and The Bahamas where he sits in a windowless box logging poker games.
During lulls in the annual poker calendar he has put his art and design training to use by creating sets of on-screen graphics for new poker tournaments like the Anglo-French Cash Game Battle, and also for the 2010 European Darts Championship held in Dinslaken, Germany.
Using Cat and Mouse’s industry-leading proprietory data-logging and presentation technologies, Nick provides a ‘soup to nuts’ service for televised poker tournaments, heading up the logging teams that record the action at live events, processing the data and player photos, and generating the game graphics that appear on screen when the finished programmes are aired.
